History of ADANEFla
The founder of ADA Consultants of NE Florida is Chip Wilson, who has had many years of first hand experience with accessibility issues. While a senior in high school in 1968, Chip became a paraplegic. He went on to complete high school with his class, graduate from Jacksonville University with a BA degree and later received a Master's degree from Webster University
After college, Chip worked as a Parole and Probation Officer for the State of Florida, Sr. Hi Dean of Boys for a private school and then spent 23 years in the corporate world. During his career, he has had the opportunity to travel extensively throughout the U.S.
All these aspects of Chip's career gave him personal knowledge of the difficulties people with disbilities face on a daily basis. Adding to this knowledge, Chip has served as Board President of the Independent Living Resource Center (formerly the Independent Living Center) and has been appointed by Governor Jeb Bush to the Florida Independent Living Council. He has also held the Certified Business Continuity Professional designation from the Disaster Recovery Institute International
While there is no recognized certification for ADA surveys and training, Chip's experience and the many trainings he has received uniquely qualify him to help others improve the accessibility of their facilities, programs and services.
